Gianni Notarianni’s paintings are a contemplative response to nature; his former life as a monk has helped him develop a reflective approach to his painting practice.
The artist’s work offers a meditative exploration of the transcendent as seen in the rhythms and patterns of the natural world. Passing through seasons and times of day, Notarianni also plays with both the micro and macro levels of landscape through the slow build-up of marks, to create an experience of the sublime.
